Sometimes ADVANCE Grant Recipients will hold mini conferences for a specific group of people like Department Heads. These conferences are listed below.
In 2008, AdvanceVT hosted the fifth annual Advancing Diversity at Virginia Tech workshop. Workshop agenda and links to presentations by Mark McNamee and Cathy Trower are here.
Hosted at this conference is a talk by Shella Tobias to raise awareness on issues of women in the sciences and discrimination.

The second annual conference held as part of the ADVANCE program was an effort to evaluate the current initiatives within the project and focus on those in the area of the promotion and tenure process at Georgia Tech. In this light the event was a notable success as it was able to present current trends in promotion and tenure policies and create an awareness among attendees concerning the efforts currently underway to make the promotion and tenure process more transparent and fair.

Dr. Virginia Valian is a Professor of Psychology and Linguistics at Hunter College-CUNY; author of "Why So Slow? The Advancement of Women," (MIT Press, 1998); and the Hunter College ADVANCE Program Principal Investigator.

On September 18, 2009, an unprecedented gathering took place of leaders of organizations focused on advocating for women at Washington State University and the University of Idaho. The event was co-sponsored by WSU’s Provost, NSF ADVANCE funded EXCELinSECenter, Association for Faculty Women, and the Women’s Resource Center." The First Annual Georgia Tech NSF ADVANCE Conference took place on May 9 and 10, 2002 at the Marietta Conference Center and Resort (MCCR) in Marietta, Georgia. Over 225 members of the Georgia Tech community were invited to the two-day event, including every tenure-track academic woman faculty member; all deans, associate deans and school chairs; select senior male faculty members from each college; and other guests.
Starting in 2004, AdvanceVT hosted annual "Advancing Women at Virginia Tech" workshops. Since 2008, the workshops have been co-sponsored by the Office for Diversity and Inclusion, and are now entitled "Advancing Diversity at Virginia Tech."
Lehigh University hosts the 18th Annual LVAIC Undergraduate Women’s Studies Conference. All undergraduate students at Lehigh Valley Colleges are invited to submit their original work to the conference. Submissions of a variety of scholarly, scientific, and creative projects with relevance to issues of women and gender in a variety of forms will be accepted until January 27, 2012.
The main objectives of the ADVANCE Scholar Program are to provide mentors for underrepresented women STEM faculty (e.g. women of color, GLBT) and to establish a national conference specifically for women who are marginalized along multiple dimensions.
