This presentation from the 2009 PI Meeting covers: physicists don't know what current research is already being done, additional challenges, the mixed acceptance of diversity goals, the need for context, how to get data into the hands of natural scientists
Our goal? Engage STEM women in cross-sectional (academia-industry-community) partnerships. We will build on partnerships that have resulted in unique opportunities for STEM faculty: the JPMorgan Chase Technology Center, the Biomaterials Institute, the Center of Excellence in Environmental and Energy Systems, and Welch Allyn's Blue Highway are just a few examples. The provision of opportunity grants and on-campus workshops/collaboration events are the two core activities in this initiative.
A central goal of the SU-ADVANCE initiative is to prepare women faculty to excel at the interface of interdisciplinary, cross-sector (academia-industry-community) research. Toward that end, funding is available through the SU-ADVANCE initiative to facilitate the development or enhancement of collaborations between female STEM faculty and their fellow researchers in for-profit industry, in government, or not-for-profit research labs or other organizations. These grants are aimed at heightening the professi
Each year, over the next four years, the program will fund Interdisciplinary and Engaged Research Seed Grants of up to $20,000 each to be used toward collaborative projects that include the integration of two or more disciplines (interdisciplinary research), and/or projects that involve external partners and that benefit the public good (engaged research).
The University of Maryland is nationally and internationally known for its outstanding equity and diversity efforts. A major key to the institution's success in these arenas is its decentralized equity and diversity structure. This structure encourages the campus' conceptualizations of equity and diversity as "community responsibilities" rather than the purview of a single person's role and function or office's mission.
Starting August 25, 2011, Lehigh ADVANCE is accepting applications for a new small grant to help STEM faculty move from discussion of interdisciplinary collaboration and leadership in meetings and seminars to action that has an impact on their careers.

Lehigh ADVANCE Grants for Interdisciplinary Collaboration and Leadership APPLICATION FORM
There is a gap in research examining the gendering of intellectual preferences for and professional consequences of interdisciplinary science. The Lehigh ADVANCE Social Science Research Team will explore the effects of interdisciplinary organization on promoting the careers of women STEM faculty. Results of the investigations will be published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national scholarly conferences.
