The CU-ADVANCE Center offers two competitive named Lecture Series to help with recruitment of highly qualified women faculty members by providing a prestigious invitation and professional networking opportunities for the visitor and for Cornell faculty.

These brief awareness sessions focus on gender-based stereotyping in classrooms and labs and differential expectations toward male and female faculty members. The sessions are conducted by Dr. Dorothy Miller, Director of the Center for Women, and a Ph.D. student from the department of Organizational Behavior.

This site contains links to the Women in Science Lecture Series, which was was recently launched at FIU thanks to a generous gift by Mine Üçer. The speaker series hopes to promote the awareness, participation and advancement of women pursuing academic careers in science. Many of FIU's science departments will be bringing speakers to highlight women in the sciences.
