This semester-long series of sessions for new faculty focuses on a variety of important issues faculty face to help them navigate issues and build a sense of community. Each year, new faculty gather for sessions that include a welcome orientation/open forum and workshops on plagiarism, grant opportunities and the reappointment, promotion and tenure process, among other topics.
UNC Charlotte ADVANCE has created a Wiki for new faculty called, "Survival Guide for New Faculty."The goal is to provide pertinent information to help new faculty make a smooth transition to UNC Charlotte. Much of the information is pertinent to more seasoned faculty also. Information on where to find what at UNC Charlotte, teaching, research and writing resources, career advice, legal issues and organizational tips can all be found on the Wiki.
This mailing list is for the use of the ADVANCE PIs, Directors, and Program Developers. It will enable us to share best practices, helpful web sites and programs, discuss common goals, etc. You can subscribe here.
